Raipur : Chief Minister of chhattisgarh “Bhupesh Baghel” has written a letter to teachers stating that presently, pandemic COVID-19 is looming large on the country and the society. In this time of crisis, we should make collective efforts to actively prevent this disease and keep our village, family and society safe and secured. Mr. Baghel appealed teachers in the state to practice preventive measures of social distancing, hand washing and also to play an active role in creating awareness in the society about these preventive measures.
Chief Minister stated in the letter to teachers that along with imparting education to children, teachers are also directly-indirectly influential to their families. Teachers are the source of moral education and knowledge for children. Teachers’ advice and guidance have a strong impact on not only children but their entire families. In a way, teachers play the role of guides to the society.
Chief Minister said that to prevent the crisis due to corona virus, active participation of teachers is required. Through their students or by personally interacting with their families, teachers should explain the importance of going quarantine, practicing physical distancing and frequently washing hands.
Mr. Baghel stated that instructions have been given to distribute dry ration as compensation to the midday meals that children used to get in schools. Appropriate procedure should be adopted to distribute dry ration at school-level, so as to ensure social distancing and adherence to hygiene standards while compulsorily providing dry ration in place of midday meals to the eligible students.
Chief Minister also directed the teachers to immediately inform district administration or concerned health official, if they see initial symptoms of corona symptoms in any person, or find people gathering at any public place, or witness people violating the guidelines of government. Teachers cooperation and support can prove vital in controlling and preventing the spread of corona virus infection.
