CII Chhattisgarh organized interactive session with Shri TS Singh Deo via Video Conferencing

CII Chhattisgarh organized its Second Council Meeting followed by an Interaction with Shri T S Singh Deo, Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government to discuss on Steps taken by Chhattisgarh State to combat the Pandemic COVID-19 on 08 April 2020 via Video Conferencing.

The session started with Welcome remarks by Mr Amit Agrawal, Chairman, CII Chhattisgarh State Council wherein he stated that CII has undertaken a massive contact programme with over 150-member companies, directly and indirectly, to assess the issues being faced by these organisations and the overall economic impact of the pandemic and the consequent shut down in the state.

Shri T S Singh Deo, appreciated the efforts of CII Members and their contribution in this tough time. He also congratulated the people of Chhattisgarh to follow the Lock down seriously which resulted in very few cases of COVID -19 in the state. During the interaction Shri Singh Deo briefed the council members about various steps taken by Chhattisgarh State Government to combat this pandemic. Also he elaborated the preparedness of the state government to minimize the spread of COVID -19. He urged Industry members to do COVID-19 testing through ICMR approved Rapid Testing Kits. Also the same should be done for the employees of the Industries.

The State Council Members of CII Chhattisgarh discussed several issues which were readily addressed by Shri Singh Deo and He also assured that Chhattisgarh State Government will extend the best possible support to the Industry Members. The Session ended with the formal Vote of Thanks by Mr Sandeep Goel, Vice Chairman, CII Chhattisgarh wherein he stated that CII is fully aligned with the State Government’ s view that the shutdown would need to be extended as feasible or even if it needs to be lifted than it should be in a calibrated manner. CII also believes that the state should brace itself for what may be a long haul to overcome the public health crisis and the economic crisis precipitated by the corona pandemic.
